More On Non Conventional Fibres.

The many “abilities” of Non-Conventional Fibres -

SUSTAINABLE. AFFORDABLE. PROFITABLE. COMFORTABLE SUITABLE. DURABLE. FASHIONABLE. AVAILABLE. DESIRABLE

Non-conventional fibres are a viable but seldom used source for the textile industry. These are an alternative to conventional textile fibres such as cotton, jute, wool, silk, etc.

Non-conventional fibres are usually sourced from plants and animals. Bananas, hemp, coir, pineapple, etc., are plant fibres. Likewise, animal fibres include spider silk, pashmina, Angora rabbit, etc.

These fibres are “exotic” and “luxurious,” and stakeholders such as cultivators, textile mills, fashion houses, and retailers can earn substantial profits from their potential market. All who touch it will benefit from it.

Respect nature and limit exploitation to fulfilling our needs, not greed.

Be sustainable in our manufacture, use and disposal of garments.

Limit our wardrobe and opt for the rental rather than the ownership approach to garments.

Replace Short-term profit orientation with Long-term sustainability.

Adopt and encourage the use of Non-Conventional Fibres and circular economy.
